There’s your explanation…Īlso, it’s worth noting that I forgot to mention that Snitsky attacked Maven earlier on in the night, completely forgot where it happened, should’ve written it down, oh well. Also, in this segment, Eddie Guerrero asks John Cena where the stab scar is, and Cena says doctors took care of it. It lasts just over a minute after Lita gets disqualified, using a chair to attack Trish, depriving us of what I’m sure would’ve been…a match.īackstage, Teddy Long tells John Cena (who is only wearing underwear) that he will get a shot at Carlito’s US Title. JR says women first competed at Survivor Series in 1995, the Jumping Bomb Angels are turning in their graves. Trish Stratus vs Lita for the Women’s Championship That being said, for those who like Dean Ambrose simply because he’s a lunatic, well here’s Heidenreich…do you like him? Ah well, like I said, not a trainwreck, but Heidenreich was still a deadly combination of sloppy, boring and badly written, character-wise. We’re all just very happy that it wasn’t disaster, and the shock on Undertaker’s face after he wins makes it look like he also felt that way. That being said, it wasn’t a good match at all, but somehow the fact that Heidenreich could only really punch and take bumps was covered up fairly well. HOWEVER, this was actually watchable, a massive surprise all in of itself. This was The Undertaker vs Heidenreich…as in…it should’ve been a ‘worst match of the year’ candidate. Big Show, Cena and Eddie end up being the two survivors, last eliminating Angle in what was a pretty good match, especially when you consider that Luther Reigns was in it. The only thing I’d change would be the spot where Angle has Big Show’s injured ankle in the ankle lock – Big Show didn’t tap, but I felt as if he should’ve. This match has a similar structure to Smackdown’s 2003 Survivor Series match, it’s fairly quickfire, and in a way, it suffers because of it, but not that badly because most of the eliminations make sense. This match happened in the aftermath of Cena being stabbed by Carlito’s bodyguard Jesus (wrestling!) but he didn’t manage to get his revenge here as Carlito and Jesus escaped after stealing someone’s car…WWE continued to employ Jesus after committing two terrible crimes. There was some scruffiness here, mostly in the form of RVD’s shitty elimination where he and Angle were right next to the ropes the whole time so the referee definitely should’ve seen it. Cool!Įddie Guerrero, John Cena, Big Show and Rob Van Dam vs Kurt Angle, Mark Jindrak, Luther Reigns and Carlito Caribbean Cool in a Four vs Four Elimination Match But oh well, good stuff.īackstage, a foreshadowing promo sees Edge tell Kurt Angle he’d never be able to take Shawn Michaels out. The match was pretty good, a lot of great wrestling from both, though the action was lacking a lot of life at times, or you could say the life was lacking a lot of action. However, Christian was such a good mid card heel that he made it feel like it was worth a lot more than that, and when Shelton won the match (with his nifty T-Bone Suplex) it made him look so much better than if the win came against a lesser opponent. Shelton Benjamin vs Christian for the Intercontinental ChampionshipĬhristian was pretty much here as somewhat of a filler opponent for Shelton Benjamin and his new IC Title reign. Anyway, Spike scores the cheap win and his 2004 heel run was incredibly memorable…NOT! Ha, pwned.īackstage, we get an incredibly sexually tense segment with Heidenreich and Snitsky. I loved Rey’s hurricanrana onto Kidman from the apron, ‘twas key. While there is a lack of care in the air, pretty much because nobody in this match is THAT over other than Rey, it’s still exciting, fast-paced and there’s a pretty varied collection of high-flying moves. While I’m sure this pay-per-view in general is fairly polarizing, a lot of people are in agreeance about this match being a fine way to start the show. Spike Dudley vs Rey Mysterio vs Chavo Guerrero vs Bill Kidman in a Fatal Four Way for the Cruiserweight Championship I guess it would be fitting as the main event to that show was a Smackdown vs Raw elimination match, but we’ll see. I’m not sure if I’ll end up reviewing the 2005 show, but it’s definitely a possibility. Nevertheless, we shall continue the Survivor Series Series with the 2004 edition, emanating out of succulent Cleveland, Ohio. It’s November 2004, an idiot wins the US election, these times they aren’t a-changin’. This will be a treat, Uncle Moe, here I am, while you eat.
